Maruti Suzuki Omni

Maruti Suzuki is people’s car and Maruti understands the needs of the Indian customers. Knowing the needs of the Indian people to transport both passengers and goods Maruti launched its hit model Maruti Omni. In the last two decades, Maruti has changed it face thrice after the launch back in 1985.

Maruti Omni, the 796cc vehicle is for both family and business use. It is available in 6 models. The Omni five seater for those who love the shape of Omni and want comfort of traveling. But it is miserable to say the fact it does not give any comfort to the passengers. The seats of Omni have no good height and no good springed seats.

Another disadvantage found while driving it is that it is never good at cornering as it might loose control and fall upside down because of its small tyres and quiet a big height.

All the six variants are having the similar body and the difference is only in the interior arrangement. And of course two are having still higher body. The Maruti Omni 8 seater is mainly for a bigger family and is intended for taxi uses as it can occupy more people. Next is the Maruti Omni LPG that runs on Liquid Petroleum Gas. It gives more mileage and less expense every kilometer. It has a slightly different engine but the power is just as the petrol model.

The body shape is apt for the use ambulance. So, Maruti has done it from the factory itself.

Next is the Omni Cargo which is quiet higher than the normal Omni. It is merely for business usage. It is mainly used by courier and parcel service companies. And the last model of Omni is the Omni Cargo LPG to give more profit to the owners.

Many are  afraid to travel by Omni as it has no bonnet in front, the front seaters might face death in accidents on the spot. Otherwise, it is best as the road view is very clear to the driver. It is also controllable in the best manner in city drive.

Omni has clear lens headlamps for better night drive, the body graphics attract all, the dash board and steering wheels are upgraded, the seats are of two tone colors to make it feel luxurious, the sporty instrument cluster, the front disk brakes and headlamp leveling system give safer drive.

Ten years back Omni shined in almost all the Indian movies. It was best used in movies for kidnap scenes. The middle sliding doors made it easy and attractive. Later when it was practised in the metropolitan cities of India, it was banned in certain areas.

You can select from the five available colors and the engine is most modern as it is Multi-Point Fuel Injected (MPFI) engine. It provides a greater efficiency of 35 bhp@5000rpm and a torque of 6.1 kgm @3000 rpm. And the main attractive point of Omni is the Omni price starts just at Rs. 203047.43.
