M & M is developing a smaller 5 seater version of Xylo. The car will be a little smaller than its big brother and is expected to be powered by a engine under 1.5L capacity. A smaller engine is used because it has to qualify for the tax redemption given to vehicles under 4 metres length. The platform used will be a smaller platform of the current frame of xylo. Like the rio of premier this car will have two rows of seats which can accommodate 5 adults.
Mini Xylo is aggressively priced and is estimated to be around Rs 5lakh which is about 30% cheaper than the existing one. If this car is a success it would open a new segment of cars (now the only car in this segment is rio).

Mahindra should consider producing petrol varient of mini xylo because a number of Govt/PSU employees especially Bank officers who get reimbursement of 90-130 ltr of petrol towards their conveyance allowance could not be able to purcase a MUV as there is no choice available in the market. A petrol mini xylo would be superhit among young Govt / PSU employees.
rajesh but the problem is that ..one cannot target a specific group of people…we can only target people belonging to a special economic band…..
Success of mini Xylo will be depend upon price and fuel economy.if basic and second end within five lac on road that’s ok because mahindra already have a big network.early launching will be beneficial later lot many veh are coming

Very true Rajesh. If M&M launches the petrol version of Mini Xylo, definitely many of the bankers would prefer the car as their first choice. Better M&M goes for market survey on this and give try by launching limited edition of the model. Either way eagerly waiting for the launch of Mini Xylo.
Mini xylo will b the best of all as it will attract the middle class people to opt the same. For indian roads this mini suv will be much demanding. Hope M&M will not compromise with the quality and technology caompared to XYLO otherwise the taste of SUV will b gone as experienced in RIO. MOTO of M&M should b to sell more MINI XYLO on low price & get the profit

As per the market reputation 0f M&M I am sure Xylo Mini will definitely ride the wave. It’s better if mahindra launches both Diesel & Petrol versions simultaneously around Diwali.
