American leading automobile company Chevrolet announced that their first hybrid car Volt will launch in India by 2011. The company expects India as great market for this car. Chevrolet launched Volt in China by collaborating with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. This is the first step of the company to concentrate in hybrid vehicle, because China is a leading country which is trying to avoid the pollution from motor vehicles. In India the first enemy of Chevrolet volt is Toyota’s hybrid car Prius. The company doesn’t announce the price of Volt. According to Chevrolet, preliminary specification, the 2011 Volt’s electric drive unit delivers a net 150 Ps and 273 lbs-ft of torque. It is capable of a top speed of 100 km/h. The American GM company’s greatest target is ‘pollution less roads all over the world’.
