A review about my unicorn

July 29th, 2010 by sambu | No Comments | Filed in Bikes, Reviews

A Perfect Blend

Yes it is true. It is perfect blend of technology and designer’s extravagance. Why it can’t be so? I still believe that my Honda Unicorn is the best bike I ever ride. Despite of being a wild stallion he can be tamed so easily. He lowers his head before his master and takes him to wherever he wants just like a magic carpet. His maneuverability never fails his master’s expectations. Unicorn really is like silent killer; his ambiance itself even unaware of his tempo of progress.

His throbbing heart, the black robust engine incessantly delivers power to its rear wheels. It is more than enough to obtain 60km/h within few seconds. When you hear about his strength you may frown that he may be greedy. He is in fact a miser. He always keeps some left over for another ride.

The structure of unicorn is a little complex. But just like luxury cars its complexity adds to its simplicity in riding. Especially the mono suspension hushes up the bumpy Indian roads under his wheels.

The front disc brake and back drum brake stops him where our mind stops. The spur under your left toe make him to take sudden long leap at your disposal. You will realize only until it gets dark that he keeps a little sun inside the visor.

Go on….have a nice ride…..makes sure he is properly saddled.

Fuel Efficiency : I am getting an average mileage of more than 50km/Lt.

For Town : 40km/Lt & For Highway ride : 60km/Lt

Ford Figo test drive

March 27th, 2010 by Rider | No Comments | Filed in Cars, General, Reviews

Yesterday I went to a ford show room to check on my friends Fiesta which had an accident. I had an idea of test driving a ford figo also. After going the fiesta i went to the executive and asked for test drive. The car the gave me was titanium the high end diesel model.

Though it looked small the interiors where spacious. Actually it looks more like swift from the inside. The two tone interiors and the dash board gave a sporty look to the car. Dash had the speedo, odo and all the modern consoles which we can find in a modern day car.

I had the car turned on, with out any difficulty i was able to reverse the car and join the traffic. Riding through the traffic was very easy with its power steering,  but the turbo lag some times bugged me as i was used to old model petrol engines. Believe me I was flooring the accelerator in prime traffic yet the car never gave any sign of aggression(try at your own risk). After one kilometre I got a free-way. I shifted the gear and floored the accelerator after the initial lag figo just vroomed to 100 km/hr. Now I can say this diesel engine much more refined than any petrol engine in its class( ikon diesel have vibes even having the same engine).

At 100km/hr I wanted to test the ABS and EBD, i just slammed the brakes vehicle speed got down from 100 to 25. It never skidded and the vehicle was totally controllable thanks for the ABS and EBD. AC had quick cooling effect unlike the ikon and it was quite chilling after some time.

From my point of view this is the best hatch back in its segment. It is a strong competition to the swift, indigo,Vista etc.
