The latest edition of Auto Expo starts tomorrow, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It’s the largest Automotive show in India and the only complete Automotive show in the world. There will be around 1500 participants from over 23 countries in the show. The 2012 edition of the Expo is going green, with special focus on Green Technologies and Environment. The upcoming edition is all set to stage the launch of nearly 50 new models including, 8 models which will worldwide debut. All the major car makers in India as well as all over the world are believed to roll their new models out in the expo. The major focus still lies on the Green Technologies and Environment. There will be a long line of vehicles running on electricity, says S. Sandilya, The President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the main sponsors of the Expo. Green Technology will receive a big boost from the Expo and will feature stalls by all the participants who will share the necessity of the Green Technology.
Maruti Suzuki will unveil their latest Multi Utility Vehicle (MUV), Ertiga, in the present edition of the Auto Expo. And there will be a glimpse of the hybrid version of the ever popular Swift. The diesel version of ‘Nano’ will be on display but will not be launched in the show. Major companies are making their moves to rule the show with interesting launches. It is believed that Safari Storm will be launched in the expo. The Mercedes-Benz stall, the largest among the luxury car makers, will see the presence of more than 10 cars that includes stunning cars like the SLS GT3 and the DTM car, and also a range of performance cars from the AMG stable. Hyundai will be making its presence in the upcoming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo with the global premier of its concept compact MPV, the HND-7. BMW will most likely showcase the BMW 1 Series hatchback and the new BMW 3 Series sedan. The Audi stall will certainly feature the SUV model Q3, while there is a chance that the sedan model, S6 will also make its appearance. The Porsche stall will feature extensive range of 911s, the Boxster, the Cayman, the Panamera and the Cayenne. Ferrari is likely to showcase its range of supercars at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. All four cars, the 458 Italia, the 599 GTB Fiorano, the California and the FF should be present at the stall. Besides these, other major companies including Renault, Nissan, Peugeot, Ford, GM, Polaris, Force, and Premier Etc. will also showcase their major models in their respective stalls.
Apart from these attractions the show will also feature stalls for accessories like seat covers, seat belts, stereo-video technologies, interior and exterior lights, safety features, and various extras that could make your car/bike the center of attraction. Though the Auto-Expo starts tomorrow, January 5th, the show won’t be open for the public for the first two days. The overwhelming response for the previous edition of the show, Auto-Expo 2011, has led to some changes in the whole setup of the show. After crowds swamped the show two years ago, police have asked organizers to cap daily attendance at this year’s six-day event at 100,000, local media reported. The organizers of the event are SIAM, ACMA and the CII. The show was accredited by the OICA. The show will end on January 11th. The Auto Expo 2012 will be a feast for all automobile lovers and is a golden chance to see various models that one would love to lay his hands in.
